Councillor Elise Wilson, Leader of Stockport Council and Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Digital Portfolio Lead, will open the event.
Elise will highlight Manchester’s digital story to date, including the recently refreshed GM Digital Blueprint. The blueprint is the next chapter in Greater Manchester’s ambition to be recognised as a world-leading digital city region, with an ongoing commitment to taking an open, innovative and connective approach.
Councillor Wilson said: “We want to make life easier, faster, more connected, more efficient, safer and more sustainable for everyone who lives, works and visits the region – and digital is central to that. That’s why we are doing digital differently, delivering for the people of Greater Manchester and realising the city region’s potential but we can’t do this in isolation. The Digital City Festival will bring together the leaders, creators and change-makers who are shaping the future of digital allowing us to connect with and learn from leading experts from across the globe.”
