At the University of Salford, we are ambitious. With world renowned teaching, research and innovation, we are producing graduates who are ready to succeed.
Since 1896, serving industry and advancing the skills of working people have been at the heart of our purpose. Today, we are closer to industry than ever, with strong links to enterprises across the northwest and beyond.
We build relationships with businesses to create courses that enable our students to take on the challenges of today’s working world. Through our Industry Collaboration strategy we offer a real-world approach to learning with a flexible, industry-informed and research-based curriculum.
Our strategy helps to produce graduates who have the ability to apply their academic knowledge to real-world business scenarios and problem solve with the efficiency and professionalism expected in high-level careers.
We collaborate with industry partners to create digital and creative solutions that open up new opportunities and support risk reduction in their business. We do this by bringing together the highest talent and expert knowledge across the university and employing emerging technologies to find solutions to industry needs.
Our research strengths in digital, smart cities and robotics, brings international collaboration on areas of global significance, from climate change and health to the rise of esports and media change.
Among our collaborations are projects working with BBC researchers to look at how we consume digital content in the home, a VR exhibition with the Science and Industry Museum and delivering a multi-camera livestreaming platform for Sale Sharks rugby matches.
